Comprehensive Financial Planning Process

If you are interested in a comprehensive financial analysis, this is what the process will look like:

Introductory Meeting

Introductory Call

During this virtual video call, we can take the time to get to know one another and assess if we are a good fit. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn more about me, as trust needs to be earned. I would also like to hear about your family situation, as well as your hopes and dreams. If we find that we align well, I will guide you through the next steps. Please keep in mind that this call is not intended to provide financial advice and if you choose to proceed after our discussion, payment will be required.

Gather and Input Data

If you decide to move forward, I will send a link for you to enter your information.  This includes information about your family, income, expenses, assets and liabilities.  But most importantly about your goals and dreams!  The time you spend on this step is up to you.  But the more time you spend, the better final product you will receive.  Estimates for this are 1-5 hours.

Construction of your Comprehensive plan

Once you have completed entering your data, please inform me that you are ready for me to begin. I will then commence on your plan, which will likely involve a few email exchanges and potentially a brief phone call should any clarifications be needed. This process take approximately one week. You are welcome to schedule the delivery of your plan for any time after this one-week period.

Plan Delivery

I will send your plan to you via secure means were you can review it prior to this meeting.  During this call, I will present a comparison of your current status with what I am recommending.  Recommendations will include: investment holdings, asset allocation, account types, savings rates, tax strategies, insurance recommendations (please note I am NOT an insurance salesman), goal timelines, and the likelihood of success.  This will be a discussion to make sure you understand the plan and that I didn't miss anything.  If I did, I will either make a correction during the meeting or schedule a follow up.  The plan will include a list of recommended tasks in priority order.

Follow up

Follow up

The comprehensive plan includes one follow up meeting.  Depending on your situation this may be a week, month, or up to six months later.  The intent is to check in to see how the tasks are going and to see what follow on questions have come up.  This completes the Comprehensive Planning package.

Maintenance Phase

After the included follow up, it is recommended to continue periodic follow ups.  The frequency is up to you!  Generally, a semiannual cadence works best to keep on track.  However, if you have questions about an upcoming significant financial decision such as a job change, relocation, or family changes, I am here for you!  These meetings are scheduled for an hour and charged at my hourly rate.
