Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you charge an ongoing percentage of my assets?
A: I do NOT. I want to make sure that you get to keep as much of your hard earned investments as you can. I only charge you while I am actively working on your plan. This is either as a part of an Initial Plan or ongoing hourly meetings.

Q: How much will your services ultimately cost?
A: After the initial plan and the included one follow up, there may be a need for additional follow ups depending on how much help you need implementing any changes. This is normally any where from 0 to 3 follow ups. After that it is just maintenance of the plan and implementing any changes. I generally recommend anywhere from 1-4 follow ups per year depending on what stage you are in. During the early stages 20-40 years old, it will be fewer unless there are changes that need to be made. Planning for college and an impending retirement will generally need 2-4 hours a year.

Q: Will you manage my funds for me?
A: My services do not include direct management of your funds. We will discuss what funds, allocations, and account types will work best for you. However, purchasing the funds will be up to you. During follow up meetings we will review your holdings to make sure they are still appropriate and see if any rebalancing is necessary.

Q: What financial planning software do you use?
A: Currently, I work with Right Capital software.

Q: Are you able to do my taxes?
A: I am not a Certified Public Accountant nor an Enrolled agent so I cannot do your taxes for you. However, your plan will be made with taxes in mind! We will be optimizing you plan with the goal of minimizing your taxes. We will do this by looking at your income brackets , capital gains brackets, Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount brackets and more. We will then look at opportunities to move income or do Roth conversions to try to move income to lower tax brackets.

Q: Will you take a non veteran client?
A: While my focus is on veterans, I will also handle non veteran clients!

Q: Can I just pay hourly instead of getting the comprehensive financial plan?
A: I do understand this desire. However, answering a single question without the background of your complete financial picture would not be doing you any favors. If its just a factual question, those can be answered with the use of a good google search or AI. I don't want to charge you an hourly fee for something that is readily available. I hope you understand.
