Who am I?

Hi there! I'm Kirk Reagan, and I'm a proud husband, father, step-father, and grandfather. I have worked as a Financial Advisor in a major financial firm, I have earned my Certificate of Financial Planning and now I own High Flight Financial.  I am a 25 year Air Force Veteran, and now I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring new places through travel. One of my greatest passions is helping people, especially when it comes to understanding and navigating the world of finances. I have had the opportunity to work with over 1000 clients and I'd really love the chance to connect and see how I can be of assistance to you in achieving your financial goals.

My Story

I decided to start as a financial advisor because of my passion for helping people and my deep interest in financial planning.  Following 25 years in the Air Force, I completed an additional year of financial classes and went to work at Vanguard in order to gain experience and earn my Certificate of Financial Planning.  I wanted to focus my efforts more toward the Active Duty and Veteran communities, so I started my own firm, High Flight Financial.  I finished my military career at Edwards Air Force base where I served as the Vice Wing Commander.  I took great pleasure in teaching finance to first-term Officers and Airmen, sharing knowledge that I believed would benefit them in their careers and personal lives. I spent most of my career in flying positions except one mandatory tour at the Pentagon.  As a test pilot, I had the privilege of working on many different platforms including the C-17, RC-135, C208, EC-130, KC-46 and even a tour as an instructor at the Test Pilot School.  Operationally, I started my career in the C-141 flying all over the world.  Prior to that, I went to pilot training in Del Rio (where I met my lovely wife who was in my class!) and graduated from the Air Force Academy in the class of 1996 (Tough as Bricks!).  I am originally from what was once a small town called King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.  It is about 18 miles north west of Philadelphia, so yes, I am a devoted Eagles fan! Even though I now reside in Dallas, I still make it a point to attend many games, showcasing my enduring support for the team. Throughout this journey, I have saved for retirement, been retired (for about a year and a half), saved for my kid's college and paid for my kid's college, and planned for major events like moves, weddings, and vacations!  Each of these opportunities has shaped my path and I look forward to applying the skills I've gained to help you achieve your financial goals.

My Philosophies

My approach to financial planning always begins by understanding your unique goals and aspirations for the future. Just like in military planning where the desired outcome is paramount, I believe clearly defining your financial destination is the crucial first step. I then try to best understand you and your circumstances and beliefs.  This is critical as what makes the most financial sense, may not make the most sense for you and your family. From there, I advocate for a disciplined and straightforward strategy, often utilizing diversified and low-cost index funds. We'll begin by ensuring you have robust protection against life's unexpected events, without overpaying for it. In retirement planning I like to make sure the plan addresses all scenarios, whether that be an untimely passing of a primary income generator or the risk of outliving your money. My planning style is generally conservative, but I tend to favor a slightly aggressive path to grow your wealth. My ultimate goal is to under promise and over deliver and ensure you achieve all the goals you set.

Will I be a good fit for you?

My passion lies in serving those who have served our country, as well as their dedicated families and supporters. As a veteran myself, I deeply understand the unique challenges and opportunities you face. My engineering background means I have a natural affinity for numbers and a keen eye for detail. So, if you have detailed spreadsheets or want a thorough explanation of the rationale behind your financial plan, I welcome that! I particularly enjoy helping clients where I can make the biggest differences, and the more runway you have in front of you, the bigger impacts I can make. From active-duty members to those approaching a second career or  retirement, I am equipped to help you strategically pursue your long-term goals while enjoying a comfortable lifestyle today.
